KGameOfLife may be started by one of several ways as described below.
You may start KGameOfLife by selecting it from the EdutainmentMathematics submenu of the panel.
You may start KGameOfLife by entering the following at the command prompt:
% kgameoflife &
The mini command line (invoked with Alt+F2) may also be used to start KGameOfLife
You set up an initial pattern consisting of a set of live cells (either by choosing one of the pre-installed pattern in the Pattern menu or by defining yours choosing Your Own in the Pattern menu). Then you click the Start button and you watch the pattern evolves as the rules are applied to each generation.
Default settings are blue cells, board with 35x35 cells and cell dimension is 10 pixels square. Default pattern is the Explorer. It is best to set up KGameOfLife to the maximum board dimensions your display can contain as the patterns evolve better on a large board.
